Joining the Hampshire Genealogical Society

10 May

I have at long last got around to joining the Hampshire Genealogical Society (HGS) after putting it off for several years.

I know the money is not a lot (£10 a year), but I really wanted to make sure that I had a reasonable amount of Hampshire ancestors before I took the plunge. Having found three generations of MITCHELLs born in Hampshire I think I can safely say that I have Hampshire roots, rather than strays who just wandered across the border into the county.

I visited the HGS stall at the Family History Event and picked up a membership application form. I have completed this and put it in the post with a cheque, so now I can just sit back and wait to hear from them.
