London Historical Records arrive at Ancestry.co.uk

26 Mar

The first records of the long awaited London Historical Records have been released at Ancestry.co.uk in association with the London Metropolitan Archives. It is early days yet, but there is a small selection of Poor Law, birth and baptism, and death and burial records available, for UK Premium members.

Therein lies the problem, my current subscription is only the equivalent to the UK Essentials membership, and is not up for renewal for another four months. I would probably have upgraded anyway, but I think this probably seals the dealĀ  for me, and I will become a premium member. Having checked with Ancestry it appears I will get a credit for the unused portion of my current subscription if I upgrade now.

However, having played around in the indexes for a while there doesn’t appear to be much there that I would like to access just yet, so I will sleep on it for a few days before deciding whether to go ahead and upgrade or not.
